Need volunteer hours? Students in grades 6 and up are invited to join the Teen Volunteer Board on Wednesday, January 19th from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Help prepare projects and plan to help out at the kid’s Valentine’s Day program on February 9th. Registration not required, snacks will be served!

Teen Volunteer Board

Teen Volunteer Board–Wed. October 20th, 3:30-4:40 p.m.

Need volunteer hours? Students in grades 6 and up are invited join the Teen Volunteer Board. Meetings are held twice a month to help plan events for teens and children and assist in contributing content to the library’s teen blog and website. Snacks are always served

This week we will be creating decorations and planning activities for the library’s Children’s Halloween Party on October 26th.

Event Reminder!

Don’t forget!

This Thursday from 3:30-4:45 students in grades 6 and up are invited to come beautify their world! We will be decorating pots, planting flowers and making seed “bombs”! What’s a seed bomb? They’re clusters of dirt clay and seeds…drop it in your yard where you’d like to see flowers grow!

Space is limited, registration is required for this program, stop in or call the library at 789-1555 for more info!

Recycled Blank Books

Recycled Blank Books

Have too much extra paper? Reuse it! Wednesday, April 21 from 2-4 p.m., students in grades 6 and up are invited to create blank books and pocket sized CD case notebooks. Registration is preferred but not required for this event, call 789-1555 for more details.

Valentine Creations!

Join us Thursday, February 11th from 3-4:30 p.m. for chocolate, trivia and cards! All the chocolate has melted…can you guess what candy bar it was? Do you know how many Valentine’s are exchanged each year? Learn the answers while you make your own valentines for friends or family!

Open to grades 6 and up. Registration is preferred but not required for this event, call the library at 789-1555 for more information.

Holiday Decorations

Rescheduled Teen Survival Craft

This program has been rescheduled until Wednesday, September 30th from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Students in grades 6 and up are invited to make locker chalkboards, squishy stress balls and trail mix…all the things to help survive the school year! Snacks will be served!

Teen Summer Reading Program

School’s almost out, and that means….

It’s time for the Teen Summer Reading Program.

There will be prizes each week for all who participate by reading 30 minutes per day, as well as drawings for grand prize-winners each week. The weekly incentive prizes have been generously donated by local and statewide sponsors and are especially geared toward teens and preteens. Open to students entering grades 7 and up, the program will run through August 9th.

In addition to weekly prizes, we will also be holding weekly teen events at the Peace Dale Library. Space is limited, so be sure to stop in or call the library at 789-1555 to register!

Keith Munslow Improv Workshop

This workshop is all about making it up on the spot! Using a mix of theatrical warm ups and comedy improv games (like the kind you see on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”) we will dive into the fast-paced world of improvisation. This exciting group program teaches teamwork, give/take and creative problem solving in a fun, safe environment.

7-9th Grade Book Group

Students in grades 7-9 will be meeting to discuss Gothic! Ten Original Dark Tales. Copies of the book will be available in advance at the Peace Dale Library. Snacks will be served, no registration is required. New members always welcome.

Teen Artist Café Series at the Peace Dale Library

Students entering grades 7 and up are invited to create different things each week at the Summer Reading Express Yourself Teen Artist Café. Come to one or come to them all! Space is limited; call the library at 789-1555 for more information or to register for these events.
